Clinic Services and Policies
The Lopez Island Medical Clinic specializes in family medicine and preventive health care. Services are provided by Bob Wilson, M.D., who is Board certified in Family Practice Medicine, and Cathy Doherty, ARNP, a Board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Together with an all R.N. staff, our medical practitioners provide health, wellness, injury, illness, and acute care. The vast majority of medical needs of both residents and visitors can be met here on the island.
Two of our most important goals are to improve the health of those who are at risk for disease or disability and to maintain the health of those with low or no health risks. We work as partners with our patients to promote the best health possible.

Our Policies
Appointments
Office visits are by appointment by calling 468- 2245 during office hours. When scheduling appointments, our staff will ask you questions to determine the complexity of your problems and the appropriate amount of time needed for your visit. We make every attempt to stay on schedule, but emergencies do occur, and delays can develop. If time is critical to you, and there are delays, please notify the receptionist so your appointment can be rescheduled. We request that new patients arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment to complete patient registration.
If you must cancel an appointment, please call us as far in advance as possible at 468-2245.
Patient Confidentiality, HIPAA, and Medical Records
The Clinic adheres to HIPAA regulations and requires absolute confidentiality from our staff regarding patient issues. We do not disclose your records to others unless you request and authorize it in writing or unless the law requires and compels us to do so.
Prescription Drug Refills
We work closely with Lopez Island Pharmacy and mainland pharmacies to promote timely refills. We require 24- to 72-hour notice for refills.
Financial Policies
The Clinic is required to collect co-payments at the time of service. We request that patients are informed about their insurance policies. We have SHIBA volunteers who can assist with researching insurance options. For those without insurance, a 20% discount is given if payment is made at the time of service.
